  1. Hello

I have been making VCD's for about 2 weeks now and I have used the instructions off the vcdhelp.com web page to so. But yesterday I started having a weird problem when I tried making a new VCD.
When I would try to "Add Item", Roxio's VCD Creator just shuts down...
For the past 2 weeks I have clicked on "Add Item" and I have had no problems, now everytime I click on it to select a specific file to add to my VCD it simply struggles for a few seconds and then shuts down.(During the struggle a blue icon appears in my taskbar)

Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone else have any idea what I can do to fix this problem...?

I know some of you will recommend to use Nero instead, but to be honest with you I tried several times to make VCD's with Nero and all my attemps failed. So I would rather keep using ECDC, since it "usually" works well for me.

Thank you for your time and effort.

P.S. I am using Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum with Windows XP.
I have added the updates and the XP patch.

  4. I also have the same experience. I made my vcd's all on the same manner , with virtualdub and tmpgenc with subtitlerfilter , and from one moment on the other vcd creator freezes when i want to add a mpg.file. burning with vcdeasy gives no problems. running codecs again didn't help.

The .mpg's I have tried since the problem started are all compliant...some of the mpg's I have tried, I have already burned as VCD's...I did this just to see if it was an mpg compliance problem.

  6. The really odd thing is that for almost 2 weeks everything was working fine with ECDC and then all of a sudden I can't burn a VCD...?!?!?

I even tried un-installing ECDC and re-installing it...but I still get the same results.

I am also trying to figure out what that little blue icon in my taskbar means..?!?!....it only appears when I try to add an item and when ECDC dissapears so does the icon...

I hope the "Direct CD" is not being installed ?, that darn thing will make any disk you insert, ready for dropping files, like copy paste onto a hard drive. The disk is then no use at all for anything else.

Windows XP comes with Easy CD Creator built in, and they have had problems with it since its release, XP is not the best OS for this work, and its going to be sometime before V2 is released that may actually work.

Meanwhile, you might like to try Roxio Video Pack 5.1, its far better for VCD DVD and SVCD

I understand you can download the Video pack 5.1 Update from Roxio, and it will look for your previous version of VP5.0 then ask for your VP5.0 serial number before it will install.

So for those of you who have purchased/Kazaa the VP5.01 why not try it
