Just checked the DVD player compatibility list and it shows the Shinco based machines including both mentioned GE players (sorry but 1106p is not capable of this) as well as Apex and many more that uses the same firmware. Some creative programmers have tweaked the firmware and made the updated firmware available that can now support mini DVD format.

Go to http://groups.yahoo.com and either subscribe in shinco or 5803 groups, the updated firmware can be found in both. Also be sure to read message #41 from 5803 group about the problems and issues (such as CSS being off when it should be on auto)
