  1. i found a bunch of propaganda movies on the internet
http://archive.org/movies if your interested...anyway they have them in divx, mpg1 (vcd) and mpg2 formats...obviously the mpg2s will have a higher resolution and so if its possible i want to burn them to a cdr (i dont have a dvdr drive) so i can view them on a dvd player with the highest possible resolution and quality (eg svcd) i'm running OSX 10.1.5 on a 500mhz G3 w/ 256mb ram... any ideas?
    thanks

  4. use the vcdXgen option to create an XML file from the .MPG, then use the toastXAimager option with that XML file to output two .img files you can burn with Toast XA multitrack mode (trash the _pregap and the .toc files).

I have a cheap $90 Mintek DVD player that plays VCDs. I have found it will play relatively high bitrate MPEG-2 files right off of a CDR saved just as files not in VCD or SVCD file format. You might want to give it a try. It can't hurt.
