First off this is a great site and everyone on here seems to know what they're talking about. Now here's my problem....I don't know how to make a VCD. But here's the thing...the guides are very informative. I see most guides are for making a VCD from an avi or mpeg file and I would love it if someone would give me a link to a guide that can help me make a vcd after downloading a file off of Mirc. I noticed they aren't avi or mpegs. It's a TS file broken into 2 cd's that I guess you're supposed to unzip? ....Am I supposed to unzip them with winrar? I've done that but once i do what the hell are all the files in it? I have Nero also...I'm such a newbie and I'll probably get castrated on here...I've been searching the net trying to figure out how to do this so I'm not asking for help from anyone just point me to a guide so I can figure this out by myself. Thanks...hey feel free to help if u can though!

unrar the files .... burn the bin cue file with nero or cdrwin or prassi - you will need 2 700meg blank cd's
you will then end up with a 2cd VCD that can be played on your dvd player or PC -- but of fairly poor quality i suspect ..
TS = telisync i guess -
As what BJ_M said except that you probably won't need two 700Mb/80 min cdrs, just two 650 MB/74 min cdrs.
The only time 80 min cdrs would be used is if the movie was less than 80 mins or more than 148 mins, which is pretty rare. Even then, most releases are just copy's of Asian bootlegs which pretty much always use 74 min cdrs. They would use three 74 min cdrs rather than two 80 min cdrs. I assume this is because many vcd players won't accept 80 min cdrs.
Yes TS stands for telesync and the quality of these is usually pretty bad. -
I've noticed the TS ones are pretty bad...now when I try to drag the bin and cue file over so I can burn the 1st cd I get an error message...something like "the bin file is invalid, need mpeg-1 which was encoded for video-CD"...What does that mean? I select Video-CD to do this right? This would be my first vcd burn(and I don't expect it to come out good) so I'd thank you for any help you could provide. BTW I'm using Nero....

open nero (im doing this from memory because im on a unix machine right now, so forgive me if the wording isnt perfect) -> go to "burn image" -> in the drop down box at the bottom where it lists type , select "all file types" -> select the cue file . burn ....

Before you load the .cue make sure you edit it (use notepad) and look at the path of the bin file. If its correct cool if not you should enter the path to the bin file wherever it might be on your computer.
