I've tried finding info on the GeForce4 Ti series, but all the reviews go on about the graphics side of the card.

Does anybody have any good or bad experiences with the Ti4200 video in cards? Or could direct me to a decent review? I'd realy like to know what the bundled drivers/software is like and the capture quality.

My other choice is a Radeon AIW.

Also do either of these card types use the BT7x7 chips?

    Thanks in advance... :P

I just bought a Geforce4 Ti 4200, with VIVO (The 128MB Gainward). There IS NO comparison to an ATI 7500 in my opinion.

I bought this card to replace my AIW Radeon board, and it's got to be 10 times better for games, and I can still do S-Video or Composite capturing the same as before.

I don't want to even mention the upcoming 9000-series ATI cards, including an AIW version... suffice to say they're giving Nvidia a run for their money with those, but they'll be $$$$$$

Simply put, if your choice is between a Radeon 7500 and a Geforce4 w/VIVO, and you don't need the TV tuner, GET THE GEFORCE.

  3. The GF4 is about equivalent to the Radeon 8500 series, so you'll get better 3D performance than with the 7500.

If you want both good 3D AND good capture, the 8500AIW is the best choice right now.

    Thanks for the info...

Homerpez, have you tried any other capture apps other than the one that came with the package?

Actually... I never tried the one that came with the package... I just use VirtualDub.

I am told the program it comes with typically, sucks.
