After overcoming quite a few problems getting the output I wanted I've used iuVCR to capture videos from my video camera (Hi8) using the S-Video out to my AverTv Stereo S-Video in..
I am using the option "uncompressed" @ 480x360.. The resulting file looks fine except it's got what I think are called scanlines (horizontal lines running over the entire screen).. That's not much of an issue because from further away (viewing) it's not noticeable..
The problem is when I convert it to SVCD in TMPGENC I see those same lines badly when there is movement... I've pretty much stuck with the defaults..
I'll be trying whatever I can in the meantime but any suggestions are welcome.
TIA

I seemed to have fixed it, I changed it to NTSC Film and went from non-interlace to interlace, I'm not sure which one fixed it.

PMK5, what capture software are you using, because you mentioned some options that don't appear in my AverTV software? I'd like to know if you are using AverMedia's software or something else. Thanks!
