I just ripped a DVD (yes, I own it) and I was attempting to convert it to VCD and put it on one CD using ffmpegX. The file size came out fine and the video and audio are perfect - up to a certain point. About 40 minutes into the movie the video becomes very choppy and there's no sound. Plays the same way on my computer and on my DVD player. Any idea why?

Does the problem appear during an high-motion or low-motion scene?
Which settings are you using? -
I don't think it has to do with high motion or low motion scenes. For some reason the video just goes choppy and I can't hear any audio from about the 40 minute mark through the end of the movie. Settings are:
video bit rate: 800 kb/s
video size: 352 x 240
Framerate: Source
Audio Codec: .MP2
Audio BitRate: 128 kbit/s
Sampling 48000 Hz
Channels: Stereo
Track 1
Advanced:
motion estimation: epzs
GOP: 18
Benchmark: checked
Min Quantizer: 1
Max Quantizer: 9
Post Processing: Create Toast VCD
I know that you recommend to set the actual framerate rather than just choose source but any time I do, the video wont even really play & can't hear the audio.
