  1. Can I get a good quality still picture from a video? I have no idea how to do this. Is it possible that I have a program capable of this or is there a free or inexpensive program capable of this? I know most questions here are on just the opposite of this, but this is the site I was referred to.
    Thank you!

  2. Specs of the video?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. I have a vhs tape, I am having it put on cd, vcd. I really didn't want to go through getting a capture card & everything to do that myself, since this isn't something I will do very often if ever again.

if it is on vcd -- just pause it in media player at the point you want to capture and hit use the button "print screen"

To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.

To do this, follow these directions:

Maximize or make size you want the window you'd like to capture.
To capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn.
Open a new document in MS Word or MS Photo Editor.
Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
Print the document when you're finished pasting screen shots. or paste into any other photo app (the above was from ms site) ..

to get more accuarite frame by frame capture -- use good old TMPGEnc again .. load mpeg into TMPGEnc ... got to settings -> advance , go to "source range" .. and you can advance 1 frame at a time .... since its vcd it will be progressive so you shouldnt have to worry about interlace lines ..
