Insert subtitles in a dvd-r back up

Hallo, do you know how i can insert subtitles in a dvd ?
I can do it in svcd using dvd2svcd but what about dvd ?
What software do I have to use to extract and insert subtitles for making a dvd back up ?

I use DVD Maestro.

yes i use that also - but if you dont want to spend 25k or dont want to use a illeagal version of it .. use virtualdub

load source into VD ....and with VirtualDub, add Filters from Video menu and add VobSub filter -- select the main movie's VOB file you've ripped and select the correct subtitle language, subtitle colors, etc and click Ok to exit from Filter list. Then go to File menu in VirtualDub and start frame server. Leave VirtualDub open and open TMPGEnc and open the AVI you just created with VirtualDub.
