Hi,
I hope anyone can help me with my problem. I just started to convert my homevideo to mpeg to put it on cd as (s)vcd. I used the tmpgenc encoder but till now the result is not that good. If i have a look at the original recordings i made with my digital camera it is a great quality but when they are converted to mpeg1 or 2 files i notice lots of little square blocks.
Does any one knows how to get an excellent quality ??
Already thanks a lot

well those little blocks are allmost impossible to completely remove, but there are some steps to make them a lot less noticable. First off, i would recommend that you use some noise reduction on it. Analog video can be very noisy, so its best to clean it up a little. This will give you a lot better quality. Also, you may want to see about increasing the bitrate a little. The more bitrate, the better the quality will be. Keep in mind tho, more bitrate means a larger file also..
