Dansai 1010 digital audio problem

I can't get the digital audio output working on my brand new 1010.

I'm using an Altec-Lansing ADA885 amp, this worked brilliantly on both Wharfedale and Reco DVD players. With Dansai it only works on analogue, not digital inputs.

Is there anybody out there using the digital audio output who can confirm that it works OK?


I've applied the firmware upgrade shown elsewhere on this site, this has enabled a macrovision switch but still says v25xxxx on the version ID, is this correct for the latest version (v30?)??
Is there a site where I can download a later version?

This is the second Dansai player to have exhibited the problem, so if it's a fault it's a common one.

Further to the above:

The digital audio output works fine with my old (10+ years) Pioneer sound system.

So, does anybody have any ideas why it won't work with the Altec Lansing, which is a much newer system and should support any newer protocol updates?

I suspect the digital signal levels may be out of tolerance, or something similar - but it's happened on 2 players now.
