  1. I'm trying to install the Adaptec ASPI drivers (4.71) and follwed the instructions exactly. It installed only two files - when I do ASPICHK it says only two files were installed, the other two aren't there - but the readme says this is OK.

VCDEasy says I have ASPI problems and No CD Writer. I have HP200i.

    Anybody have any help?

  2. The Adaptec installation is somewhat of a hassle (and retarded IMHO).

Go to http://www.doom9.org and download ForceASPI. It basically installs the same thing (except it always works).

It definitely works for WinXP as well as Win9x/ME.

    Regards.

By experience, I know that the latest Aspi 4.71 not always work.
Best is to do the "force aspi" and be sure to have aspi 4.69 or 4.70 at your system. This will always work (w9x, wME, wNT4, w2k and wXP)

  4. Thanks for your help. Downloaded ForceASPI and it worked great the first time around.

STrange that the actual install file doesn't even install all the right files!

    Thanks again for your help.
