  1. I am using toolame as an external encoder (have burned successfull vcds in the past) and it crashes at 99% when creating the temporal wav file on tmpgenc. i use the video source from the divx file i d/l from the net, but am using an extracted wav file for the audio as the divx audio file is not acceptable in vcd specs. this always worked for me in the past except for this particular file. the file runs fine on my pc. tried smxwin & maenc as external encoders as well and it's the same problem. tried using tmpgenc's own audio encoder and i get an audio sync problem. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

  2. get the toolame gui and forget about creating temporal files and using tmpgenc to encode the audio.........just put the toolame gui in same directory as the toolame.exe file ...then open the gui - set the settings the way you like for input and output options and bam!, encode - no more tmpgenc needed

  3. I still require tmpgenc to convert my video to vcd's specs though. Anyway, I finally figured it out. I gave up on toolame and I used scmpx both as an external encoder and a sampling frequency converter and I finally have it working. Thanks for the info.

Old post, but I'd like to follow up on this.

First, what is scmpx, is it similar to toolame ?

And for the low_iq_88 suggestion, are you suggesting that we export and decode the wav file in something like VirtualDub.

Then use tmpenc to encode the video only. Then after that, use the toolame gui to create and synch up the wav file to the audio ?

    thanks,

    Jon
