I've seen the guides on how to rip a dual layer dvd onto 2 dvdr's . However it's the movie only and the space left over is a lot on the discs. Is there a way to rip the movie and the extras's onto 2 dvdr's. The first having most of the movie and the second the rest of the movie and the extras's

unless you just do not feel like taking the time, it's much better imho to transcode and fit the movie and all the extras on 1 disc

How long does that usually take. i have win 98SE so can't make files over 4GB either.

depends on the software you use, it can take anywhere from 1.5hours-24 hours. it is also dependant on your hardware. i can transcode a 2 hour movie using 1 pass vbr cce and it takes about an hour and 40 minutes. not being able to have a final file saize over 4GB can be a problem sometimes, but with CCE you rarely get anything that large

Tried using rempeg and it took 12 hours. So got CCE as you recommended. Looked at the guides on doom9 and they seem complicated. I don't have the programmes they say use to authour either. What do you uses to author and how do you use CCE for your own backups.
