Is there a way to use a video preview of a scene for a motion chapter button?

In VideoPack 5.1 you simply insert a chapter stop and right click the resulting chapter button and select "preview".
Depending on how long you have set the menu to display is how long the video preview will plar b4 looping.

I know Workshop does motion buttons, but it looks like you can only insert a seperate video clip, not an actual preview from the point you inserted the chapter stop.

I use Workshop. I played around with the motion buttons. I loaded a single clip, created entrypoints (chapters) as normal, then created a menu with the motion buttons. I think I used a template, and dragged each chapter onto a corresponding button.

This only works when you're creating a DVD project. It doesn't work for VCD or SVCD.

When you're on the Finish tab, you'll see an option for 'Preview Motion Menu'. When you click it, DWS will generate the preview, then show it to you. Depending on the length you've specified for the motion buttons, it may take some time.

Version 1.0's image quality on the motion buttons were kinda sucky. I heard v1.2 improves on it, though I haven't installed and tested it yet.

    Thanks for the reply.

I know you can generate a preview of your menu, with or without motion buttons.

But I meant how do you set how long a motion button will play b4 looping (guess I should have worded it that way).

Anyway, you answered what I was asking. Thanks.

BTW, ver. 1.2 has pretty good quality motion buttons.

Under the Menu section, there's a checkbox for whether or not it's motion. There's also a box for specifying the length of the loop. All buttons loop the same length (ie. the loop length is set at menu level, not per button).
