My DIVX player will not paly my AVI file, VirtualDub says there is an error, saying I should decompress the Audio as Uncompressed WAV file then Recompress to 138.4 +- 18.2 KPS

Is there anywhere there is an explanation of what I should do

    Thanks

Will Media Player play the AVI, if not install the Nimo codec pack, you may have a audio codec missing.

You need to save out the audio uncompressed

    Audio > full processing mode
    Audio > conversion > 44.1Khz
    SAVE WAV

No, I am able to play part one of the movie, part 2 gives the error.

I have managed to save out the soundtrack as a WAV file, what do I do now, I guess I need to recompress it...somehow, then `merge` it back with the video file, if poss can you explain how, preferably with VirtualDub

    Thanks

Well assuming its not a fake, you need the correct codec's installed, that's why I recommended Nimo.

If the final files is going to be an Mpeg1, you only need to load TMPGEnc and use your WAV as the audio and your original AVI for the video, use a VCD template and click START

If you just want to keep it as an AVI, you can select Audio > WAV audio and select the decompressed WAV you made.

Playing DivX files has nothing to do with the warning you get in Vdub, that could mean you need to install a codec (Nimo)

Decompress the Audio if you wish to edit the AVI or make it into a VCD
