  1. Hi, I've a big problem, and I hope that someone can help me in solving it.
I've some ULEAD programs (like DVD picture maker, Moviefactory...) and I've used them fine until last week (i maked a lot of perfect svcd).
Suddenly yesterday, when I tried to burn a vcd (for the other formats it's the same), an error "failed in power calibration" is shown.
I tried to reinstall the programs (with all the ulead programs that use MMC writing plug in is the same) and also to format my pc and reinstall windows; but the problem is the same. The recorder is working fine with nero or similar burning programs.
If someone can help me in solving this problem, I really appreciate it. I need thoose programs for my job and I'm in trouble with this problem.
    ...please, help me.

    My configuration:

QDI legend, PIII 733, 512Ram, 30Gb HD, Matrox 550, Pinnacle DC10 PLus, WINXP, Traxdata CDRW121032plus

  2. Have you recently switched brands of CD-R? I get this error with DAO writing on my Sony CRX-175E with numerous brands of CD-R. So far , I can only avoid this error with Taiyo-Yuden produced phthlao dye CD-Rs marketed as Fuji , TDK- but indicating made in Japan, Maxell , same indication. If you see - made in Taiwan, these don't work for me.

  3. I would agree with drdy111956.

I had these problems with different brands of CD-RW disks, One that had the "power calibration" error, and when switched to a new brand I could burn but then no erase.

So it's back to the puter shop for me.....

PS: the TDK cdr's have been the best for me, the only errors have been human.

  4. Thanks for all, but I try also different brand of cd and the problem is still present.
i can think that my cd recorder has a problem, but i don't understand why it's working fine with nero or similar programs of burning.
I'm waiting for new suggestions if you have..... thanks a lot.

  5. sandrus,

If you haven't already, look at Uleads website for service packs or updates.

    http://www.ulead.com/tech/dps/dps_ftp.htm

You could also try to extract the *.ixa using "isobuster" and then burn with Nero.
You may have to re-author using other software like VCDeasy.

If it turns that your burner is starting to fail, and this is for your job, then a new burner may not be such a bad investment.

    Hope this helps....
