  1. on old small video music clips. some are thin in colour and contrast.
is there a program that could improve them.
    without adjusting single frames.

  2. At first capture them with your favourite Vid-Cap procedure to AVI. Then use Virtual Dub in Full processing mode and some filters to enhace the old videos. A good start should be flaXen VHS Filter. This Filter (along with some others) can be downloaded at http://sauron.mordor.net/dgraft/

This should automaically try to stabilize colors, reduce Chroma-Shifting from VHS Videos, noise reduction and sharpens the picture all in one.

However this complex filter slows a 1.4 GHz Processor to process only 2 frames in a second.

    I hope this helps...

  4. Virtual Dub is the Video editing tool, like Photoshop is a tool for editing photos. Both programs can be used with so called filters, that add more functionality to the programs. So for example, in Photoshop there is a "Lensflare"-filter, that automatically adds a Sun-Lensflare to the picture with the click of a button.
In Virtual Dub, the Filter I talked about, takes the Video from Virtual Dub, enhances the picture, and gives it back to Virtual Dub.
On this page is a collection of many filters, but for your purpose of freshening up the Music Video, the flaXen VHS Filter seems to be the best choice.
