This question may have been asked before but didn't see it anywhere. I am trying to encode to MPEG1 for VCD from an AVI file using TMPEnc's VCD NTSC template. Most of the time the picture looks pretty good, but when there is a contrast change, motion, or a very busy (detailed) shot, the picture pixelates. Is there a way to increase the quality of encoding to fix this? I've messed with GOP settings by increasing them, but it did not seem to effect anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

well i hate to say it but it really all repends on the source. The motto around here is

    crap in = crap out

you can enable soften block noise, under the quantize matrix tab under settings. This will help some. Also you might want to look into enableing noise reduction under the advanced tab. Doing so will increase encoding time, but you can probably help out the picture more.
