I posted this before but to the wrong form. I am running W2K and NTFS TMPGE works like it should and everything is fine until I load in Ulead Media Studio Directors Cut. Ulead works fine, but TMPGE doesnt. TMPGE comes up I can import the .D2V file just fine but when I go to import the audio file .mpa I get the message TMPGE.exe fault windows is shutting it down. When I go back and uninstall Ulead, TMPGE works fine. I would like to keep Ulead Medai Studio. I did notice that if the Audio file is a small one the TMPGE will handle it ok with Ulead loaded. Looks like something in windows2000 is shutting it down when a big audio file is imported. I got plenty of Hard disk space so that isnt it. Any help would be appreciated.

Gee Offline thanks for your great answer, but I did search the form already and couldnt find any answers, Someone had asked the same question a while back but there were no replies to it. Probably most of the questions asked in the form could be answered by "well that has been covered before so just search for it". If you honestly knew the answer would it have hurt so much to just post it.

did you try change the directshow reader priority?

Hey Thanks for the reply, I've tried changing the setting but still no help, I think for some reasons windows 2000 is shutting it down the pop up windows says "TMPGE.exe has generated errors and Windows is shutting it down" I did try a smaller audio file and that worked ok. I got plenty of HD space. It looks like something in windows does not like the big audio file, when Ulead is removed though all is fine. Guess I'll have to just uninstall Ulead when I want to use TMPGE.

I'd posted it here. If I find it I'll post it, but given your attitude I'm
somewhat less than motivated right at this moment, if you get my drift? -
Hey Offline sorry I havent gotten back to you but I have been away. Gee you know the answer but wont tell. Reminds me when I was a kid and played that game. I have read some of your other posts and you like to come across as having answers for everything. This one must have really stumped you....I will admit I'm new to this, but if I can answer someones question I will. It must be hard on you to not have all the answers so a qood reply is what you came up with, Oh I know but I'm not telling...In case you forgot this form was set up to help people....course with your childish atttude you probably havent figured that out yet. Have a nice day

I share you pain. In the beginning I felt the same way but now that I have been around the block a couple of times I can understand the abrupt "look for the information" responses. There are times when I see 6-10 posts all asking a variation of the same question. Most questions are easily answered if one would perform a basic search or read past today's posts. While I don't approve with some of the rude one-line responses I have seen. I believe that offline's reply was polite. You may need to develop a thicker skin.
Now in regards to your question.
If TMPGEnc works when you remove Ulead Media Studio. I suspect that one of its installed codecs are your culprit. Since you are able to narrow it down to the audio I would try figuring out which audio codec Ulead installs. Then lowering the priority of that codec in control panel. I can't offer any specific info as I don't use Ulead or Win2k but I have heard of this fix correcting problems of this nature.
Hope this helps.

Hey Dmonty, thanks for your post, it got me to thinking of some possible ideas, I tried what you suggested but no joy, but continuing along your lines of thinking, I pretty sure I got it figured out now, thanks. The big problem I had with Online is that I did search all over the forms area and no one had a fix to this problem. Course you know what he said. Anyway thanks and I sure I got it working now.
