I had been recently converting some mkv files to avi files using xvid4psp. However one of the mkv during the conversion process (around 5% into the conversion) causes a xvid_encraw.exe crash which ruins the video encoding. Is that a xvid error or something? Please help... Thanx in advance.

Are you using 2-pass encoding? Try change encoding profile to 1P Ultra or Xvid HQ and see if it make any difference.

Or the source might be corrupt. Try convert to another format like mp4 h264 and see if it crashes.

I am using 1pass ultra...though. However the other mkv files are very similar and they have been converted without much of an issue. It is just this one file. I am relatively certain that the source is uncorrupt. Any other suggestions? If not then thanx for the help. I will try the suggested methods.....
