ripping , encoding gone haywire... help please... thanks

i am not using a dvd burner,, and the object is to copy my dvds to another cd. ( any format vcd etc is fine as long as i can play it on the dvd,,) i have a panasonic srd 2002 and it is not in the dvd player list...and to play on my tv set dvd player or my computer dvd player... any help is greatly appreciated and sorry for the long read...thanks again

here is what i did with the software.
i loaded my dvd, and let my HPdvd player read it and then once it began to show a picture and so forth i stoped iit and then i opened Smart Ripper and let it get the needed video and audio files and it was put into a new folder. the dvd was taken out and put away, since i have all the files no need for the dvd, i then closed SmartRipper .
next,
i open Flaskmpeg. clicked on File and clicked on the first vts_ file at the top in that new folder .stream selector window pops up i check my audio language ,set to english and i flaskit ,,, i go back to the small flaskmpeg window i check options make sure my Output format was set to bbmpeg encoder (and not avi out put)

i got back to the options tab and i click global project button and i set video to:

width 352
height 240
time base 29.97
idct options is set to mmxidct fastest


audio is set to:

decode audio
44.1 hz


general tab is set at compile whole file. then i close that window and i finally go to the run tab and click start conversion.. and i only make these changes >> under settings ,, i got to video stream settings and change the default from mpeg-2 to mpeg -1. and it starts the set up and i end up with the whole dvd copy on my hard drive,,,, with no problem at all, everything is great. ,,ok,

so i figure the problem is from here on end as to why i am not able to burn the dvd ..

this is what i did from here on end...

We are going to be using the TMPGEnc to split the files. Open the Program:
Click on File, Then Click MPEG Tools

Click the TAB that says Merge & Cut!!!

Then Click on the Drop down box that says "Type" and Select: MPEG-1 Video-CD

Edit MPEG Splits

Lets assume you want to split your MPEG movie into 3 tracks. Click Add and choose the mpeg file you want to edit (your movie) the screen above will appear. Move the slide at the bottom 1/3 of the way across. Then click the } button. This will cut the movie at that point.

Name your output file

A good example would be: newpart1.mpg

Click Run! You now have the 1st 1/3 of your movie saved as newpart1.mpg

Repeat process as necessary for the 2nd and 3rd part of your movie


then i did this


Burning Your New DVD onto CD:R To Burn the DVD you will need the last piece of software that you downloaded Called Nero Burning Rom. Start Nero If the Wizard does not start automatically click the Wizard button shown above!Click New,

Then Click on Video-CD (scroll down on the left side to get to it)

From the File Browser, select your MPEG's, They should be in the C:\DVD directory, Then drag them to the list at the bottom of the screen.

Then Open the Write Dialog box by clicking on the WRITE CD icon on the tool bar. Make Sure that all of the MPEG's for your Entire movie i.e. Parts 1,2 & 3 got dragged into the list.


but it will only get the audio files, and no picture is show,,, are you able to tell me what i did wrong?? i apologize for making this so long i was hoping that a step by step of what i did you could better see what i did wrong???

You don't need Flask Mpep. Rip your DVD as one large file. Tmpeg will open and encode a single vob file. Some DVD's trick Tmpeg in ending before encoding has finished. If that happens use Mpeg tools in Tmpeg,do a simple demux and simple remux. the mpg file that was created will open and encode complete in Tmpeg.
Second method would be a proram called DVD2AVI,it serves files, that Tmpeg can open. You should not use Flask,it's slow!
