I used to be able to rip a DVD in 10mins but now it takes 30+ mins. Could this be becaue my transfer mode is PIO4. If so, how can i change it to DMA if it will make it fast again. Or is it another problem.

It is most probably related to the Pio mode. Which OS are you using?

As far as I know; Win XP should automatically enable DMA for your harddrive(s). You can check in the system folder if DMA is enabled.
