  1. Hello to all,

I have a problem watching certain VCD's after downloading them and opening a player to watch them. When I play the .dat file in any player, like windows media player and Power Dvd XP I will green a changing green screen with wierd sounds while the movie is playing. I can't see any of the movie, but it is playing, just this green screen.

I have installed all different codecs...ie: Nimo and DivX latest codecs, but I still have the same problem. I have also downloaded the same movies from different sites, with the same result.

Other movies run fine, but lately the new ones do this.

Can anyone please help. I would surely appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  4. Just a shot in the dark.. but have you tried removing the latest
divix & mpeg-4 drivers u have installed using Nimo, and loading
older (ie. divix 3.x) drivers? If you were seeing purple then
it would be an obvious codec problem.. but green and weird
    sounds?

  5. it's something to do with the dvd drive...not the codec, because if you try to play the vcds in a regular cd drive, they work...i still don't know what is the exact problem though....it might be a driver conflict or something

  6. I open my bin file up with WINISO then i run the .dat file from my hard drive.

It does it on my hard drive and also when I burn the bin file onto CDR and then play it on my Home System DVD player. They both have the Green screen with wierd sound. The movie is playing, but you can't see it properly.

  7. Now I'm really lost.. hehe.
All I can say is that a green screen on playback traditionally means that
the audio is corrupt or is the wrong type or is badly multiplexed.
