  1. i had a version of spiderman that was all in one file and i had to split it. i was successful in doing so but, im learning about premiere and not quite sure how to export the mpeg so it can be a file small enough to put on vcd's. i have the lsx plugin for mpeg and it works properly but i cant seem to get it to save the file less than 700 meg. it currently is saving the file over 2 gig. i read most of the tutorials on this site and owe much thanks as they really excelerated my ability to get this thing right but i cant figure out this last step so if anyone can help out that would be great.

  2. For VCD, it's ~10 MB for 1 min of video. Adjust your working area (by adjusting the working area definition indicated by yellow bar) and export. The best is to frameserve your result to TMPGEnc but it's a bit tricky, troublesome and time consuming. Hope this helps.

  3. the segment i was trying to export is only 60 mins of video and the bar in the time line reflects that. other than that i wasnt sure what else i could adjust to shrink that. using your ratio stated earlier there should be more than enough room on the cd. 60 = 600 meg. not sure what else to try through premeire. ive not tried to frameserve so maybe thats what ill be forced to do unless someone has another suggestion for premiere.

  4. Framserving with TMPGEnc is just to get better quality. You can export using LSX and that saves you a lots of trouble. You just suffer a bit less in quality.

Check that under export-> movie>setting you have selected "export work area" under range and not "entire project"

  7. You export as MPEG-1 using the LSX plugin. Don't export as AVI(DV or Microsoft). It's huge.

  8. i did choose mpeg 1 and i had to go into the advanced settings to do so. i had to check export audio and had to check vcd as svcd is the default so im pretty confident that mpeg 1 using the lsx plugin is what i was using. this is why im having such a hard time finding the sloution to this problem. every time i try something different i have to wait 2 hours for it to be done converting just to see i didnt fix the problem. i tried reading the forum at adobe and the premiere bible but since it doesnt include docs on plug ins i have no idea where else to go.

  9. You need to set the right resolution and frame rate in LSX window.

As for NTSC VCD, it's 352x240, 29.97fps. As for PAL VCD, it's 352x288, 25fps. Hope this is what you are missing that contributes to huge MPEG files.

  11. Have you tried simply loading one of the Export Profiles? I don't know why you're going in and having to make all these settings manually. I hate to sound like a smartass, but did you actually try reading the LSX and Premiere help files? They're both the some of the best documented applications out, and your cheating yourself of time if you don't bother to look it over.
