  1. Alright i am wondering how i can re encode the vcds i made to svcd. I did a search on the forum but didnt find anything.

  2. Easy, use TmpGenc. But why bother, they wont get any better.

  3. how exactly in tmpgenc would you do this. I mean ripping the vcds onto my hard drive? Thanks

    Use VCDGear to convert the .dat file on the VCD to an MPG. Then TMPGenc to re-encode.

    But as Bugster says - it's probably as good as you're going to get already. The only reason I can think to do this is maybe to add subtitles?

  5. You can convert the dat files back into mpg files (see the "how to convert" link on the left), then convert them to SVCD-compliant MPEG-2 files from there.

    If you need to do this because your player will play SVCD, but not VCD, that's one thing.

    However, if you think it will improve the quality of your 1150kbit MPEG-1 files, you will achieve nothing, other than having a larger file that looks no better than the VCD from which it came.

  6. Yeah i just want to get them to the svcd because my dvd player will just play svcd and not the vcds. Thanks for all your help
