I am trying to convert avi files to mpeg files using the instructions from this website to put them on one cd in tmpgenc v 2.5. I did this once, and it worked beautifully. However, after closing and reopening tmpgenc, I can no longer see the template I made in the project wizard. (I could with the first file I made.) If I click on load in the regular interface, I can see the template I created in the templates folder. Is there some way to make this template return to the project wizard so I can use the set bitrate feature in the wizard to make my files? Alternatively, is there some way of using the set bitrate feature without actually using the wizard?
Thanks,
Kathleen

IMHO, the TmpGenc wizard is a waste of time, skip it. Once Tmpgenc is open, click load and select your template. Then click setting. On the video tab you should see Rate control mode. Select the option you want (CQ, CBR etc) from the drop down list, then click the settings button next to the drop down list. Another dialog will open allowing you to adjust the bitrate settings.
BTW, if you need to change any options and find them greyed-out. Click load again from the TmpGenc main screen and select unlock.mcf from the TmpGenc extras folder. All settings should now be available.
Hope this helps
