I have a Divx file that was encoded with interlace lines and want to conver it to VCD format. Is it possible to remove these lines with a filter or am I stuck with them as they have been encoded into the video. I know that VCD doesn't support interlacing and that when converting from a DVD source the drop in frame size would remove them - but I'm guessing that the same does not apply when converting Divx/AVI to VCD.

Sure, when you encode, under your templates advanced options, you can use the Deinterlace filter. It is also in Vdub if you frameserve as well.
