  1. I have now downloaded the new version of DVD2SVCD.
And when i open the ifo file, I can shoose "16:9 borders added, encoded as 4:3" or 4:3 no borders, encoded as 4:3"
Its say the same thing on 3 other movies i ve tryed.
What should i shoose?, the movie is gonna get 4:3 what i shoose... isent it possible to encode it in 16:9.
I gonna watch the movie on a widescreen tv.
Is it better to shoose 4:3 without borders then? I want to get as much picture as possible and keeping aspect ratio so its looks good on widescreen tv.

  4. use the preview window..anyway if it says on amazon.com/dvd that it's widescreen letterbox, or 16:9 letterbox, or anamorphic letterbox. In other words if it says letterbox anywhere then choose 4:3.

  5. If in doubt, do one chapter and convert it both ways, and see which looks correct.

  6. Thanks for the ansvers.

I have looked at amazon.com but there is only region1 dvds there, is it same on region2 discs?
And would it be possible to crop away the black bars using dvd2svcd?

  7. ok thanks. I ve tryed to do some crop, but it dident get any good.

But i have now tryed to encode a 16:9 2:35 movie, and in in DVD2SVCD i shoosed it as a 4:3 movie, i know that wrong. But when i the watch it on my widescreen tv and shoose 16:9 on the tv the image was streatched right...i think..it looked good. And i also got a bigger picture without missing any picture on left and ritgh. How do this sound..? maby the tv streatch it to correct aspect ratio...? well it wont look good on a 4:3 tv...but that doesent matter.

  8. Actually that's a very good way to do it if you're only going to watch it on a 16X9 tv, read this thread
