I looked at previous posts and found nothing that related to my problems so i thought i just post my question so sorry if its been asked loads of times.
Problem..
I've got hold of a few Divx movies such as "LOTR", "Monsters Inc" etc. I've split the movies into half so they would fit on to or more cds. However when i go into NERO and try and make a VCD, NERO starts Encoding (no idea what its doing or why). The encoding take way to long and i've never bothered to let it finish. For example "NERO" takes about 20 minutes to encode about 15% of Monsters Inc.
Whats going on why is it encoding and not making a VCD straight away.
Also would Divx movies work fine on DVD players and if not what would i have to do to get them working. As i have quite a few Divx movies but i wanna watch them on my DVD player and not on my pc.
Please help

check out the how to convert guide to your left. You need to convert Divx movies to mpeg 1 for VCD mpeg 2 for SVCD or DVD.

Thanks for the reply.
Just 2 things..
Does converting Divx to mpeg take very long or is it a quick process.
Is there a loss id picture quality when converted?
Thanks -
Encoding to mpeg depends on your CPU speed and if you use any filters. It take my machine about 2 hours to do a 90 min movie from a DVD rip.
I also suggest you read the newbie guide in how to also. Happy encodingMay the force be with you.
