I have captured some material using Huffyuv 2.1.1 at 480x480 using the DirectShow capture applet called AMCap. I have tried to encode it directly right after capture, but my encoder of choice, LSX-MPEG, freezes instantly after frame 1. I have set the video mode to 'Interlaced (top field first)' because that is the proper interlaced mode for my capture card. I have tried 'Progressive' and the other Interlaced mode as well. I have tried using the 'always suggest RGB format for output' option, even though LSX-MPEG has accepted Huffyuv files before without this option. I have also tried to take Huffyuv out of the picture completely by using VirtualDub as a frame server, without filters and then using the deinterlace (interpolate), TV (I/Q 5x5 avg.), and sharpen (by 16) filters to deinterlace and somewhat improve the video. Every time LSX-MPEG freezes. It is version 3.5, by the way. Other video editors (like Vegas Video and Premiere) and MPEG-2 video encoders (like TMPGEnc) have no major problem, but I really need to use LSX-MPEG because it produces the most noise-free output, and TMPGEnc was doing weird things with the audio. Does anyone have any idea as to why LSX-MPEG freezes like this? Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance for any input you might have.
