Since downloading TMPGENC, have been dogged non-stop by the error "CAN"T FIND p3package.dll" error when trying to encode ANYTHING.
Searched for past posts on this subject. Followed the instructions. No help.
Here is what I have done:
[1] TMPGENC.EXE is ina directory under PROGRA~1 under C:\
Therefore I added to autoexec.bat the following line:
PATH=C:\windows;C:\progra~1\TMPGENC\p3packag.dll
and rebooted the computer.
Running Win 98SE.
This does nothing to fix the problem.
It is STILL impossible to encode _anything_ in TMPGENC 2.55 due to a non-stop constant persistent infinite everlasting "CAN'T FIND p3package.dll" error.

This is a simple one , what you do is copy and paste the "p3p package.dll" into your system and system32 folders..This is one of the most common problems posted on the "tmpgenc BBS" you will get quick and precice answers if you go there first for you tmpgenc related problems...

Sadly, this problem appears neither simple nor easy to deal with.
I long since copied p3packag.dll into both C:\windows\system
and the C:\windows\system32 subdirectories.
This does N*O*T*H*I*N*G to solve the constant incessant non-stop error message "CAN'T LOAD p3package.dll" from TMPGENC.
Next, I got into autoexec.bat and added the line
PATH=C:\windows;C:\progra~1\TMPGENC\p3packag.dll
This does N*O*T*H*I*N*G to solve the constant incessant non-stop error message "CAN'T LOAD p3package.dll" from TMPGENC.
Lastly, I piped a command to a .txt file in order to identify every subdirectory on my computer. Then I wrote a batch file to copy p3packag.dll into every subdirectory everywhere on my computer.
This does N*O*T*H*I*N*G to solve the constant incessant non-stop error message "CAN'T LOAD p3package.dll" from TMPGENC.
It seems clear that TMPGENC simply does not run on Windows computers, isn't that correct?
Isn't it actually true that if you are running Windows 98SE, TMPGENC cannot and will not run on your computer? -
Ditch Windows all together. It'll solve ALL your problems!

Well, ditch Win98. It is not designed for video manipulation. That's the sad and total truth. I had to upgrade to Win2k to work with video. All problems disappeared. (A subsequent upgrade to WinXP, mainly to take advantage of some minor apps, also brought no new problems.)
