Has anyone noticed that TMPGEnc will now open and re-encode the dreaded .ASF file? You know... The format that Microsoft didnt want us to extract data from. Open an .ASF file with any version of virtual dub released after 1.3c and you will see what I mean.

Yep I opend the ASF file in Vdub now what ?
Yes we did know about TMPGEnc, but there again with a few hacks so did the other versions -
Oh sorry, try saving your .ASF file in virtaul dub as an .AVI after you open it. You will get an interesting message regarding what Microsofts wishes for. Support In TMPGEnc for the .ASF file format is only in the more recent versions from what ive seen. Heres a test for you, try opening an .ASF file in all the video editing software you can get a hold of, see how many of them allow you to extract data and save. Ok, opend ASF in Vdub, and saved as AVI. Now what ?
Just a word, I dont have a regular Vdub !!
Also you will find GraphEdit works very well with ASF -
Your not using a regular VDub, ok, then hook me up. If its Nandub I havnt tried it yet, just got it.
