Hi,
I want to transfer all my DVD movies (about 50 of them) to best possible picture format that I can put on a cd and I know this process takes really long time.
My questions are:
1- What is the highest quality format for sound
(actually I have only 2 speakers and a sub,so good ol stereo will be fine) and picture?(VCD,SVCD,DiVX or somethingelse)
2- What configuration do you guys recommend for this?(AMD or INtel, dual processors etc.)
Thanks for all the helps in advance.

Well quality depends on the bitrate. A higher bitrate means higher quality.
And a faster processor and more memory means faster encoding. A fast HDD also helps...
