  1. I have a question..Lets say I have some mpeg files on my computer and I would like to reate a vcd..Is that possible, because my friend was telling me I would have to convert that file into like a mpeg 2 or something like that, then go about creating the file after I use the codec..My main question though is how do I know which mpeg I have and can u use a regular mpeg and start to like just creating the vcd, or I have to use the mpeg i have, create an mpeg2 the create and avi file from it then use that to create a vcd then work from there to the burning joining or whatever I choose..

Well anyway, thanks a lot for the help..

You need to use TMPGEnc to convert the mpeg's into VCD mpegs (If they are not already) then you can use them to make a VCD with your burning software.

If you try to use the wrong type of mpeg, your burning software will let you know.

First off you need to do some reading on this site and actually research what you're trying to find out before you ask a uestion like this because the answer to your question is on almost every page of this site...

Now that that's out of the way, to see if your mpg files are already in vcd compliant format get Mpeg Properties which is a little proggy that tells you the info on your mpeg file. If the mpeg file is in compliance with the standard(s) then you should be able to use your burning program to create the vcd. There are tutorials here.
