  1. Wonder if anyone can help.

    I am trying to extract the audio out of a avi to wav using virtual dub, but it only does 1/2 of it!! any reason why?

    Oh, this is a new one...

    Maybe the AVI only has half sound ? 8)

    Well the most likely cause is some corruption at that point, when you save the WAV have you told Vdub to save it uncompressed ?. Then you can use it later for VCD conversion.

    Audio > Full processing
    Audio > Conversion, Check 44.1Khz
    Save WAV

    Also try this

    1, load AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames. Video > Scan video stream for errors
    1b If it finds bad frames, set video/audio to streaming and SAVE AS, save out another copy of AVI

    Also www.goldwave.com can load the audio from a AVI
