Fixing audio

I downloaded a movie where the audio and the video are not in sync.I was wondering which program i can use to fix this problem??

On the left of this page is a vertical panel with severl sections. One is labelled HOWTO, with several subsections. If none of the techniques in there solve your problems then by all means come back to the forums. Describe you problems and set up in as much detail as you can and then you might get a useful answer. But dont expect to be handed evrything on a plate.

Didn't expect everything on a plate,just wanted to be pointed in the right direction.I have virtualdub,but can't figure out how to use it for this problem.I kinda thought this was a forum for this.If it isn't,what is it for??
