  1. I am trying to joing two avi files within VDub. I've done it successfully many times, but now Im running into a problem when there are two avi files that have different frame rates.

    File A info:
    23.971 Frame Rate
    Fille B info:
    29.970 Frame Rate

If i re-encode file b to 23.971, the audio goes out of sync.
If i re-encode file a to 29.97, the audio also goes out of sync.

I can't find anything to figure out AVI files. The offered solution for MPG files does not work, since its the process of slowing down one file's frame rate to match the other for joining.

    Any ideas?

Changing the videoframe rate will always put the audio out of sync as the total time length of the video is changing but the audio remains the same.

While not the topic of your post, the NTSC to PAL conversion guide on the site demonstrates how you can stretch the audio to match your new video framerate. I have found CoolEdit to be the most hassle free tool to do this with. (Part 2b of the guide)
