I contacted Avery Dennison and was told that their labels are not acid-free or archival quality. The Apple DVD-R blanks that I use don't recommend any label (even writing on them!)
I still would like to label my stuff. Does anyone know of a high quality label that might be a good compromise?

I use Neato Labels to label my cd's and use their MediaFace Software to make them. These produce very good quality in my opinion. I have had some problems when using their glossy ones (might be my fault though)on dreamcast games. Now I use their matt finish ones for my VCD's and I havent had any problems. One tip that I got from a fellow member on this board was to stick the label on before you burn the CD/DVD and it reduces errors from it, dont know why this is but since doing it have had no problems
