Here is a question having to do with low cost DVD-R media. Take the example of three brands A, B and C. If the burner doesn't like brand C, but A and B burn OK, do both A and B have an equal chance of playing on all set-top players? I have found two brands in the $2.00 to $3.00 range that burn fine and play well on my APEX AD-1500. Now if I mail one of these to a distant relative with a different player, do I have an equal chance of either one working?

  2. I would say it depends more on the player. Not all players can read DVD-R.

  3. i think media has something to do witrh it, as princo are notirious poor burning media and even if you get a sucessful burn, poor playback. I use only Apple media in 5 pack configuration as it seem to be ( for me that is ) the best deal for the cost, I have tried cheaper media with mixed results on either burn or playback.
