Hey, I have the same exact problem with an AVI I am trying to convert to VCD. Shallow Hal.

I have a screen shot from Virtual Dub of the File Information. This is what I am doing, like chip tech It hink.
    [list]
    1) Open AVI (DIVX) in Virtual Dub 1.4.10
    2) Turn on Full Porocessing mode, choose NO COMPRESSION (PCM) and the convert it to 44100 Hz
    3) Save WAV[list]

    Ge the following error:
The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

    Then hit OK.

Since I don't think I can upload teh picture of the FILE INFORMATION here it is:

    Audio Stream
    Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz
    Channels: 5 (Stereo)
    Sample Precision: 0-bit
    Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
    Preload skew: 24000 samples (0.50s)
    # of frames: 798222
    Min/avg/max/total frame size: 960/1920/24000 (149687K)

I can play it in Windows Media Player and the audio compression is listed as something I cannot recall. 3 words ... 2 of the words began with M and one was an Irsih sounding name I think. I did a search on teh web for this format and it said somethign about multi lingual audio support or something.

I can find that info out later if needed.

Is there a way to have Virtual Dub look at teh same decompressors as Media Player? Does that even make sense? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. try downloading and instaling the ac3 codec, if media player gives you sound and vision then Virtual Dub should also then be able to pick up the codecs too. it worked for me i burnt it to vcd using nero and viewed it this afternoon on my standalone dvd player

    Good luck
