  1. I have just bought the hercules AIW 7500. I use the TV tuner to capture from digital TV. The cable carries the digital signal and 5 analogue channels. The sound on the analogue channels is ok even on the quiet side. But the sound on the digital channel is really loud and distorted. I am using Windows XP.

    Any Ideas.

  2. By the way, just add that I used to have the AIW128pro and when I upgraded to XP I lost the sound completely on the digital channel, but not on the analogue channels.

  3. I'm having the same problem; the digital channel is far too loud.

I think what I may do is get a Video Sender (£60-£90) which can go straight into the Digital box, then send the signal to the receiver upstairs connected to the AIW 7500 via the composite or svideo in connecters on the breakout box. This should give a better picture as well as stablilize the audio.

Not ideal, but I've not been able to find any way of controlling the audio other than turning down the volume, which makes the other channels inaudible.....

  4. I have a tv next to my pc in the bedroom which recieves the digital signal from downstairs via a 10 way amplifier/splitter. The way I have got round the problem is to connect the tv to the breakout box via a scart cable. Not an ideal solution, as I have to have the tv on, there seems to be a problem with the tuner on the AIW. I use Vdub for capturing and that wont work with the AIW tuner anyway but it works with the composite input. Are you using windows XP

  5. I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would keep you up to date. I just replaced my soundblaser live, with a soundblaster audigy platinum. Solved the sound clipping problem.

  6. Thanks, that's handy to know.

I may have to do that, but I've still got to work out how to get a signal upstairs first! I tried a AIG Digisender and it was pretty crap.....
