My understanding is that the Hauppauge PVR does not capture true MPEG2. I've tried using the different settings (4bit, 8bit, SVCD SP, etc.) but cannot get TMPEGenc to accept the files created (gives an unsupported format error).
I've read numerous forum posts on the subject, but nothing seems to work.
I just want to record MPEG2 quality video and burn to CD.
Thanks in advance.

Did you try to use TMPGenc MPEG tools to do a remux?
Did you go to www.shspvr.com to check for a solution?
See http://www.shspvr.com/howto/pvr880/wintv_mpeg_%20recording.htmlPanasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
Yes it capture true MPEG2
As for TMPEGenc 2 thing you need for it to accept the files.
1: MPEG2 codec (Good lucky fine it look like they where remove from here try install the Nimo Codec pack I think it has what you need)
2: TMPGEnc MPEG2 Plugin.
Your 2nd Option is Womble Multimedia Mpeg2vcr 3.12 and 3rd Option is Ulead VideoStudio 6.0 and ther always the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR Editor I just post a newer ver try it out. -
If you import your file into the MPGEditor supplied, it will output a muxed file.
