okay i followed this guide http://www.vcdhelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm to convert my SVCD to a VCD format since my Sony DVD player doesn't support SVCD, and everything is perfect, except for one thing.

    NO SOUND.

i used DVD2AVI to produce the .mpa and .d2v files, then opened TMPGEnc to make my NTSC mpg, but i come out with no audio.
if i try the cheap way by using Simple Multi-plex to place the VCD header on it, i get a shitload of green blocks when i play it on my Sony, so i have to go about the DVD2AVI route.

i didn't receive any errors when converting, and the original SVCD is perfect, so what could be my prob?

  2. heres a quick tip!! check U have selected mpeg audio in the channel format as it will not decode, next set mpeg audio to demux & finally the 48 to 44khz set to off. This should work Ah yes make sure its still set to track one.. This has worked every time for me including the spiderman svcd which people are having bother with..

thanks for the tips p@inkiller, i followed everything you said to the T but i'm still getting no sound when i play the final in PowerDVD or when i burn it and play it on my DVD player.

this does not make sense to me because i am following everything in the guide and i don't receive any errors. the only thing i can think of is that when i open up the .d2v and the .mpa file in TMPGEnc, under the audio selection, .mpa is not a selected format, so i have to select *all files then select the .mpa that way, so i'm wondering if for some reason TMPGEnc cannot read that audio file type. is there a codec i'm missing?

the only other way that i might be able to get this to work right is by just opening the entire SVCD mpg as the Video and Audio input and load the VCD NTSC format, but when i burn that version, i'm getting choppy blocks. could that be because i'm burning it too fast? (6x speed is what i burned it at)

    i'm stumped.

  4. U could always try the plugin located in the tools section & drop the svcd mpeg into tmpeg direct... never tried this so it may go out of sync...
