  1. When using DVD2SVCD, TMPG fails to close properly.
The TMPG window closes but it is still there in task manager and DVD2SVCD is still waiting for it to finish. If i kill it in task manager then DVD2SVCD will continue, but i am unsure if this will produce reliable results, and i have to baby sit it to keep things moving

    Any help would be apreciated.

BTW this is running on a duap p3 system with multithreading enabled in TMPG. (not sure if that makes any difference)

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Closing TMPGEnc is not a responsability of dvd2svcd. If it doesn't close by itself it is a bug either in your system or TMPGEnc. I use this commandline:

    TMPGEnc.exe TMPGEnc_Project_file.tpr /Encode /Close

The /Close tells tmpgenc to close automaticallky when it's finished.

  3. yeah, that's exactly what dvd2svcd uses when it starts tmpeg. But after encoding the window closes but it's still there in task manager. and control does not go back to dvd2svcd because the process is still alive.

just wondering if anyone has found a way to make it shut down properly so that dvd2svcd can get on with the next part in the conversion process.

  4. It must be a matter of DVD2SVCD!! MyDVD2svcd process crashed today and TMPGenc seemed to be diasappeared. But undeed, TMPGenc was still in the taskmanager. Even after reboot, TMPGenc didn't came up anymore. After starting another DVD2SVCD job TPMGenc woke up.
