I want to make DVD to SVCD. Is it all I need is DVD drive and CDRW drive in my pc. I brought a dvd drive in U.S. and I brought a dvd movie from Asia area, can I use it in my dvd drive. The reason I ask is one time I read dvd has regional restriction.

You have two protections of regions, one hardware and one in software.
For the Hardware part, you need to download a region free firmware for your DVD-ROM drive itself, and this will patch it to play all regions.
For the Software part, you need a program like DVD Genie or Region Killer to disable Windows Region Detection, and this will eliminate that problem.Email me for faster replies!
