    Ripped a DVD and burned an SVCD. Plays beautiful on the PC, but does not play "floating" on my standalone DVD player.

    Something to do with framerate?

    If your TV is not a multi-system TV, then it will not play..even if your DVD player can play both PAL and NTSC.

    Did you check the list to your right of compatable DVD's to see if it does SVCD's?

    It's a Samsun SV-DVD1e, and it's on the list.
