I'm using VirtualDub and ATI software to capture to AVI and MPG. When i use either program and try to playback to movie I captured, the video freezes after 2 seconds and the audio keeps on playing. Even when I try capturing at 160x120 with 500kb/s bitrate it still happens.

If you use an ATI card to capture, there is an anti-piracy function with it. It prevents you to copy original VHS movies. I tried it and it does the same thing. I tried to capture with Virtualdub and the captured video after is green. You can capture video from the TV, camcorder, VHS tapes but you can't capture original VHS movies due of the anti-piracy on the tape.

Ahh, that would explain why all my Arnold movies aren't working. This sucks, but at least I know what the problem is

You could try and copy the original VHS to another VHS tape and then try capturing that
Some original VHS videos enable copying from VHS to VHS. Some don't (like Disney etc.)
