  1. Just installed new Pioneer A04 on my P3-400 XP machine. Upgraded to latest nero 5.5.8.2 and applied all windows update patches.
Transfered about 3.5g of data to dvd-rw media specifying DVD data format in Nero. Process worked, but DVD is unreadable by windows.

    What did I do wrong??
    Thanks.

  2. Still no reply - maybe I wasn't clear enough.
I'm trying to create a data DVD (as backup for HD). What specific format should I use (ISO, Joliet, ?) for this?

    thanks for any help.

  3. Well, my experience is that if you burn it onto a DVD-R you shouldn't have problem. I had problem if I burn it onto a DVD-RW that the windows will read my data very slowly (burned using ISO). If I burn it using UDF/ISO, it read it faster.

So My recommendation is to burn it using UDF/ISO, UDF 1.2, onto a DVD-r and see if will work

Also on one of my computer, the DVD-ROM won't read my DVD-RW but they all be able to read DVD-R

  4. What you are doing seems correct. What brand of media are you using. Did you check the Verify written data option so that you can make sure it was actually written correctly to the disk?

  5. Thanks for info -
I used generic brand DVD-RW, will try with DVD-R media & add verify option.
