Hi guys. This is LaceyWest or aka Mach10

In a post last week ... I mentioned I could no longer capture mpegs [1 - 2 months ago ... I could] with my Radeon DDR 64 VIVO at 640x480 at 5 KB ... without extreme frame drops.

I tried to use Power VCR II Deluxe v3.0 and MMC 7.5 and 7.6 and InterVideo WinDVR 1.8 ... but same result when using the capture chip on the Radeon DDR 64 VIVO.

The BT878 capture chip in the Hauppauge WINTV GO card would but quality was not great. Swishy lines are present.

The BT878 chip is in the ATI AIW TV capture cards ... cheap !!! Don't get them if you want to do quality video capture. I went to Best Buy and CompUSA and opened the boxes ... LOL ... and looked at the boards.

:P Good News Guys ... I replaced with the ATI AIW Radeon 7500 and everything is back too normal. "NO FRAMES" ARE BEING DROPPED NOW.

Also to mention ... Cyberlink PowerVcr needs a patch installed to capture with ATI AIW 7500 ... it is available for free at Cyberlink website.

I capture to a Maxtor ATA 133 80 GB ... 7200 RPM drive ...
WIN ME and 512 megs of SDRAM ...
AMD XP 1600+ ... Bios Overclocked to 1500 MHZ

Summary ... No frames are being dropped using the ATI AIW Radeon 7500. $200 at BestBuy in Fresno CA. 640x480 5KB bitrate. Excellent videos are now being made ... again.

Image with ATI AIW 7500 TV tuner is not great ... I am better off using composite video input from my PROSCAN VCR to get clean video capture.
